Mt Princeton 14,000 ft Peak

I went hiking today up Mt Princeton near Buena Vista, CO. It is a Fourteener and beautiful. There is a Bristlecone Pine Tree Forest high up on the mountain that has trees that are 2000-4000 years old.

Era 1800s Ghost town

Miners would haul a load from inside the mountain along a narrow rail to this type of structure and then drop the dirt or gravel down through to the bottom which they could separate the load and hopefully find their fortune.

Colorado has many Ghost towns

There are many structures Buddy, Daisee & I explored East of Leadville about 4 miles up Mosquito Pass-which is the highest 4WD road in North America made of dirt and open only through Summer.

This is between Copper and Leadville, Co. I used to do some backcountry in the Winter here around 1996-97 and I will venture up there again once the snow starts.
